Hello! I'm Monica — founder of Leash Adventures, professional pet care provider, and lifelong animal lover proudly serving Elmhurst and the surrounding DuPage County communities. For as long as I can remember, animals have been at the center of my life. My mom used to joke that our home felt more like a pet store — and honestly, she wasn't far off.
With over 20 years of experience as a veterinary technician, I've worked in animal hospitals, specialty veterinary clinics, pet stores, and shelters — giving me a well-rounded understanding of pets' needs at every stage of life. Today I share that love with my husband Nick and our two sons, Nicholas and Cristian.
On September 16th, 2016, I took a leap of faith and turned my passion into Leash Adventures — a local pet care business dedicated to personalized, high-quality dog walking and pet sitting in Elmhurst and the surrounding suburbs. What started as a one-woman operation has grown into a trusted team of employees who care for every client — furry and human — as if they were their own.
As we celebrate 10 years in business, I'm incredibly grateful for the relationships we've built and excited to keep serving our community for the next 10 years and beyond.

Hi! I'm Helena, and I've loved animals my whole life. I've always dreamed of becoming a veterinarian, and caring for pets comes naturally to me. I've raised parakeets since I was 7 and have experience with dogs through family, friends, and working with puppies at a pet store. I'm reliable, patient, and love getting to know each dog's personality. Whether your pup needs a relaxed walk or something more active, I'll make sure they're happy and well cared for!
Vet Tech & Pet Care Pro
I grew up with a love for animals, always having cats, dogs, and various small critters. My first job, at 13 years old, was as a dog walker for a neighbor. I worked over 10 years as a vet tech before leaving to stay at home with my daughters. Now that they're older, I'm jumping back into working with animals. Beside my husband and 2 girls, I still live with a variety of animals including: a German shepherd, geckos, snake, chinchilla, and axolotls.
